About us

With almost 50 years of history, our firm has the  knowledge, experience, and know-how to serve your needs.

Our firm’s story begins in 1967 when Attorney Don Snow wrote to his law school friend, Dick Knock, while Dick was serving as an FBI Agent in the Atlanta field office.  During his time in the FBI, Special Agent Knock worked on numerous cases, including the notorious civil rights case of the Freedom Summer Murders.  Don convinced Dick to return to his home town of Parkersburg, and the two of them started practicing law with Attorney Robert Mershon.

The firm was initially located at 404 Washington Street in Cedar Falls and moved to 517 Washington Street in December of 1971.  Early associates of the firm were Joseph Moothart, who was later appointed to the bench, and Leslie Knock, daughter of Dick Knock.  The firm later moved to 3722 Cedar Heights Drive and shared office space with the law firm of Reed, Merner and Sabbath.  Attorney Joseph Sevcik joined the firm in 1995 when the firm moved to 120 Franklin Street in Cedar Falls.  Attorney Richard Betterton joined the firm in 1997, and Attorney Russell Hinze joined the firm in 1999.  The same year the law firm of Reed, Merner and Sabbath rejoined our practice once again with an office sharing arrangement.  Seeking more space the firm moved to its current location at 120 Hudson Road in 2003.

Attorneys Don Snow, Bill Merner and John Sabbath practiced with our Firm until their passing.  Michele McCann joined the firm in 2015.  Attorney Daniel Sevcik joined the firm in July of 2021.
